Helping Teens Reclaim Their Youth While Learning To Become Responsible Adults

Maple Lake Recovery Center (MLRC) was started by Bob Illingworth in 1997 out of his desire to help adolescents. Bob worked hard to create a treatment center where boys felt welcomed and comfortable the moment they walked through the door. Mike Happ, MLRC’s current Executive Director, expanded on Bob’s original dream and since 1999 added a second treatment center for girls and adolescent outpatient services.

Mike and his team continue to build on the original vision for Maple Lake Recovery Center, Inc. with the goal of being the “provider of choice” for adolescent substance abuse recovery services. MLRC’s overall goal remains firm – to help as many adolescents as possible recover from the disease of addiction, realize their dreams, and develop the skills needed to contribute to their families and the world through living a meaningful, sober life.

Mission Statement – Maple Lake Recovery Center, Inc.

Guided by the 12-Step and 12 Traditions, through the counseling process and with encouragement, it is the mission of MLRC, Inc. to enable chemically dependent adolescents to modify their self-defeating behavior, learn to make effective decisions, and solve problems efficiently.
