Binge Eating

A binge-eating disorder is simply eating large quantities of food.

Treatment for Eating Disorders

Depending on the severity of the problem, the first step in treatment may be for the person to become medically stable.

Further treatment may include:

  • Individual, family-based and group therapy
  • Nutritional counseling to develop the strategies to maintain a healthy weight and relationship with food

Relapse prevention is critical for anyone struggling with an eating disorder because they can be very difficult overcome.
