Detoxification rids the physical body of alcohol and drugs.

In most cases, this takes a period of time from 3 to 5 days.   During this time, withdrawal symptoms can range from nervousness or mild anxiety to life threatening delirium tremors (DT’s.)

Most rehab facilities require the client to be already de-toxed and ready to go for the inpatient stay.  Rehabs located in hospitals or clinics usually have their own detox facility adjacent.

After the client is de-toxed, they are transferred to the regular treatment program.

Upon admittance, drug testing is used to verify the absence of alcohol or drugs.

The cost can vary a great deal.  You should ask questions about detox and get enough information to make an informed decision.   Make sure to get this in writing to avoid any misunderstandings.
